I recently stayed at this place and I must say I enjoyed my time here. The location was perfect as it was situated at the outer areas of this venue and just within walking distance from tourist sites and right at the station. The housekeeping and laundry services were impeccable and the room amenities were great. The heating was just right and the terrace was equipped with comfortable garden furniture to sit and relax.
I recommend this hotel to all as it was a great value for my money and I really enjoyed my stay here.

I was charged £15 instead of the £13 I was quoted when I booked the hostel. Had no other choice but to pay it. Very, very noisy all night. There seemed to be nobody supervising and people were just wandering in off the streets to avail of the warmth, a quick snog, and off they went! Main bugbear was the location. Because I have a disability the hostel was booked because the airport bus stop was across the road. Oh no it wasn't - I had to walk a lot further than I thought but just aswell I never got any sleep because I was out of bed early...

I had a great stay at this hotel! Firstly, the location was perfect - within walking distance from all the major tourist sites in the city center. Secondly, the prices were very reasonable, offering great value for money. Additionally, the staff were friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. Lastly, the rooms were kept clean and tidy, with attention to detail in providing basic amenities like clean beddings and storage space for baggage.
Everything was fine, no improvements needed.

Good location, relatively clean
i was not pre-warned of the key deposit which was cash only. Also the bins in the communal areas were constantly overflowing. should be changed more frequently

Staff is very cooperative and helpful.
There should be an access to the kitchen even in the night.

Two things we appreciated during our weekend stay were the free Wi-Fi and towel service. the location couldn't be better - situated right by several forms of public transit. Not to mention, the hostel attracts a fun and lively crowd.
Our stay was far from perfect. The dorms were cramped and uncomfortable, with much of the furniture feeling old and run-down.

Hmm...The hot water was actually hot. The staff were friendly. There were lots of tourist pamphlets. The international clocks were helpful. Y'all had wheatabix at breakfast - I'd never had it before, but it was good. The best of course was the people, but I suppose you just kinda get whoever comes.
The showers were a little skuzzy. It would have been nice to have bananas at breakfast.

The location of the hostel was a major plus, with the Haymarket train station being mentioned as being just in front and very close. This made it convenient for travelers to access transportation easily.

Friendly staff and good location (30 mins walk from Waverley Station, or one stop on train, hostel acrosss from Haymarket Station). Breakfast good value.
Maybe I'm just getting too old for this hostel lark, but I did feel uncomfortable only having a bottom sheet provided and having to use (or rather reuse) the duvet without a top sheet. I'd imagine when it's busy, it could be a problem that there are only two toilets and three showers, one of which was out of order, for the three dorms on the floor, and these were for males and females. Quite quiet when we were there so not a problem.

Location
Very dirty and smelly! The kitchen had a greasy feel and looked like it wasn't cleaned for a while! Inside the micro waves was food everywhere! The bathrooms smelled urine and where also not properly cleaned. The provided bed sheets also did not had a fresh smell, I could swear that they were not freshly washed! And if they were, was not with detergent! I slept with my clothes on! This Hostel has a perfect location for me and it even looks quite good. I liked it! But the hygiene is just not there! I will not repeat!

The hostel was clean, friendly, and had good facilities (such as free wifi, hairdryers ect...).Overall for the price the hostel was very good indeed and generally very pleased with it.
Although the hostel was very good, some things let it down. The noise was the major flaw. I was staying in Room 5 just by the reception and stair case. And there was still noise at 3am! Suggestion to keep the noise down, is to remove the table and chairs underneath the stair case and close the doors leading to the reception area. This might help the issue a little :) Also should invest in a vending machine so people can buy refreshments and sweets at night time if they want. With that said the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was good and service was good.
